The heat is on in Soddo

THE HEAT IS ON IN SODDO…….!
The soil is thirsty - clouds gather faithfully to remind us of the promised relief on the way, but the wind carries it away in the one dusty blow after the other, until a few days ago…… burdened with the heavy load, the clouds release the blessing in powerful night showers and the Ethiopian earth soaks up the blessing, absorbing the moisture under the surface, as to store the treasure in the pantry.   Wells are drying up at the orphanages and surrounding areas.  We are concerned for the nation whom has still not recovered from last year’s famine.  A stress of its own!  We are hopeful for the showers to continue - another place to practice faith!
Missionaries play volley ball in the cool of the evenings, to release the strain and build relationship with fellow hospital staff.  There is a life to be lived - a natural rhythm to the day which needs to be maintained in order to create a little sense of normality.  With red, dusty heals, we are blessed to step into a short shower to be refreshed and restored after the demands of another day on the mission field!
