Container Update
2009 May 24
SODDO: CONTAINER UPDATE: We trust that all is well in your hearts and homes! We are writing to you from a warm Addis Ababa where we are struggling to get the long awaited container through customs. Since precious friends gathered and filled a large container full of diapers, food, clothing and eye equipment, the Government made changes regarding import laws and our duty free status were adjusted before our helpless eyes…….! In order for us to get the container’s content (which would feed and clothe so many of the poor in the south), customs is expecting us to pay US$7 000.00 in penalties for second hand clothing which is against the law – to import…… we watched 350kg of clothing and shoes being burnt, while naked children watched from the other side of the fence! There is not much to be done in the flesh, so we are trusting the Father for His divine intervention, since Harry and I spent $2 000.00 already to just get the container out of Djibouti. Would you please stand with us in faith as we have asked for one more appointment on Monday morning to effort a negotiation and call of gracious hearts! In His grace!
Praying,
Tammy Brenn
